Our family chose the Levelup Group to help us buy first a rental property in Napa as joint tenants because of a longstanding friendship I had with Dotty Hopkins. Dotty had recently entered into a strategic alliance between her decades-old, successful Napa realty practice and the Levelup Group. That is how we started working with Alison Christianson of Levelup on this project. Alison took time to understand our preferences, dislikes, limitations, and goals, and sent us a number of candidate homes to consider in an extremely tough market: high prices rapidly increasing, extremely low supply, overbidding (we were unwilling to enter into bidding wars in this overheated market, as we had time on our side).
Our secondary objective was for this house to serve temporarily as a home for daughter Kate and family when they were ready to move back to Napa from the east coast. Alison is a great communicator, keeping me (local) and my daughter (3,000 miles away) up to date on opportunities, pros and cons, answering questions promptly, and always available to set up a viewing. She and I viewed 6-8 houses in about three weeks, which gave me a sense of what we liked and didn’t, and ultimately made an offer on one (not expecting to be accepted, given the competitive market). Dotty and Alison both offered strategic advice on how to make an offer more likely to succeed - advice we adopted. Our offer was accepted within 24 hours. Even Dotty and Alison were surprised!
It was a pleasure working with Alison and, to a lesser but valuable extent, with Dotty on this project. We are not professional home buyers and were grateful to share in their knowledge of the market, current conditions, and how to navigate them. Always with a smile, always helpful.
